The short version
We train law enforcement instructors. This page says what we do with your details.
We collect what you send us: your name, your agency, your email, your phone, and what you asked about. We use it to answer you, to book your seat, and to run the course.
We do not sell your details. We do not trade them. This site runs no ad trackers. You can ask us to show you what we hold, or to delete it, at any time.
The short version is a summary. The numbered sections below are the terms that apply.
1. What we collect
We collect what you give us, plus the basic technical data that every website records.
- Contact details. Your name, your agency or department, your email address, and your phone number.
- What you asked about. Whatever you type into a form.
- Purchase details. What you bought, when you bought it, and the email on the receipt. Card numbers go straight to our payment company. We never see them and we never store them.
- Technical data. Your IP address, your browser type, and the pages you opened. Our host keeps this in short server logs.
2. How we collect it
- From you, when you send the request form or pay for a seat.
- From your browser, automatically, in the server logs above.
- From your agency. If a training director books a seat for you, your name reaches us from them rather than from you.
3. How we use it
We use your details to do the work you asked for and to run the business behind it.
- Answer your question and send you what you asked for.
- Book your seat and run the course.
- Take payment and send your receipt.
- Send you course news, such as dates, venue and what to bring.
- Send you marketing, but only if you said yes to it.
- Keep the records the law makes us keep, such as tax records.
- Protect the business against fraud and misuse.
We do not use your details to make automated decisions about you.
4. Who else handles your data
Three companies help us run this site and our office work. Each one gets only what it needs to do its job, and none of them may use your details for their own marketing.
- HighLevel (LeadConnector). Runs our forms, our customer records, and the email and text messages we send. Their privacy policy .
- Stripe. Takes card payments. Stripe handles the card number. We never see it. Their privacy policy .
- Cloudflare. Hosts and delivers this website. Keeps short server logs. Their privacy policy .
We may also hand over records when the law requires it, such as a valid court order.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not trade it. We do not give it to a data broker or to an advertising network.
5. Cookies and tracking
This site runs no analytics and no advertising trackers. There is no Meta pixel, no Google Ads tag, no TikTok pixel and no LinkedIn tag on it.
Two parts of the site are run by HighLevel: the request form and the checkout. Those set the cookies they need in order to work. If you block them, a form may fail to send.
Browsers can send a Do Not Track signal. There is still no agreed standard for answering it, so we do not respond to it. It changes nothing here, because we do not follow you across other websites either way.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt out of any sale or sharing of your data. See the California section below.
6. How long we keep it
- Billing and tax records. 7 years, because tax law requires it.
- Enquiries that never became a booking. 2 years, then we delete them.
- Customer records. For as long as you are a customer, and after that under the billing rule above.
- Server logs. A short period set by our host.
You can ask us to delete your details sooner than this. See your rights below.
7. How we protect it
Your details sit inside password-protected services, and only the people who need a record to do the work can open it. We keep that group small.
No company and no website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affects your details, we will tell you as the law requires.
8. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to do all of the following.
- Tell you what we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete what we hold, unless the law makes us keep it.
- Send you a copy in a form you can reuse.
- Stop sending you marketing email. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- Stop texting you. Reply STOP to any message.
To use any of these, email [email protected] or send us the request form on this site. We answer within 45 days. We will ask you to confirm who you are first, so that we never hand your details to somebody else.
We will not treat you any differently for asking.
9. Text messages
Machado Method Tactical sends text messages about instructor certification. That means replies to your request, seat and schedule updates, and course reminders. If you asked for offers, we send those too.
- Message frequency varies.
- Msg & data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
- You do not have to agree to texts in order to buy a seat or to get an answer from us. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.
- No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- We do not text between 9 PM and 8 AM in your own time zone.
Reply STOP to any message and the texts stop. Reply HELP and you get this policy and a way to reach a person. You can also email [email protected] at any time and we will take your number off the list.
We collect your number from the form you filled in, or from the agency that booked your seat. We use it to reach you about training. We do not sell it and we do not lend it out.
10. Children
This site and this training are for adults. You must be 18 to buy a seat, and the course is sold to officers and to agencies.
We do not knowingly collect anything from a child under 13. If you believe a child has sent us their details, email [email protected] and we will delete them.
11. California residents
This section is for people who live in California. It is required by the California Consumer Privacy Act, as changed by the California Privacy Rights Act.
What we have collected in the last 12 months
- Identifiers. Name, agency, email address, phone number, IP address.
- Commercial information. What you bought and when.
- Internet activity. Which pages you opened, from our server logs.
We do not collect sensitive personal information as California defines it. That means no precise location, no biometric data, no race, no religion, no health records, no union membership, and no contents of your private messages.
Where it comes from and why we have it
It comes from you, from the agency that books your seat, and from your browser. We use it to answer you, to sell and run the course, to take payment, to keep legal records, and to stop fraud. Those are the same purposes listed above, and we use it for nothing else.
Who we give it to
The three service providers named above, and nobody else, except where the law requires it. Each is under contract to use your details only for the work we hired them for.
Sale and sharing
We have not sold or shared personal information in the last 12 months, and we do not do it now. Sharing has a narrow meaning in California law: handing your data to an advertising company so it can target ads at you across other websites. We run no ad trackers, so this does not happen.
That is why there is no Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in our footer. If this ever changes, we will add that link and say so here first.
We do not sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
How long we keep it
The same periods as section 6 above.
Your California rights
- Know what we have collected, where it came from, why we have it, and who got it.
- Delete what we hold, unless the law makes us keep it.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your data. We do neither, so there is nothing to switch off.
- Limit how we use sensitive personal information. We collect none, so there is nothing to limit.
- Be treated the same either way. We will not charge you more or give you less for using a right.
How to make a request
Two ways, and both reach the same people. Email [email protected], or send us the request form on this site. We answer within 45 days, and we will tell you if we need another 45.
Someone else can make a request for you. We will ask for written proof that you gave them permission, and we will still ask you to confirm who you are.
12. Changes to this policy
We update this page when what we do changes. The date at the top of the page is the date of the last change.
If a change matters to you, such as a new company handling your data or a new use for it, we will post it here before it takes effect.
13. How to reach us
Machado Method Tactical Training Systems, trading as Machado Method Tactical.
Email: [email protected]
You can also send us the request form on this site. Both routes reach the same people, and either one counts as a formal privacy request.
